Holy Spirit Insight
Names are powerful.
Sometimes they are spoken aloud.
Sometimes they are whispered only inside our hearts.
Many women carry invisible names they never chose.
"Not enough."
"Rejected."
"Broken."
"Failure."
"Too much."
"Too quiet."
"Too old."
"Too damaged."
"Unwanted."
Perhaps no one ever actually said those words.
Yet life has a way of writing labels across our hearts.
A painful childhood.
A broken relationship.
A disappointment.
A betrayal.
Years of criticism.
Before long, we begin introducing ourselves by names that God never gave us.
But the Lord gently says:
"Those names do not belong to My daughter."
The One who formed you has the authority to name you.
Not your past.
Not your mistakes.
Not the opinions of others.
When God speaks your name, He does not begin with your failures.
He begins with His love.
He calls you…
Beloved.
Chosen.
Redeemed.
Forgiven.
His own.
Those are the names that will never change.
Bible Story Reflection
After Peter denied Jesus three times, he could have lived with one name for the rest of his life:
Failure.
Instead, after the resurrection, Jesus met Peter by the sea.
He didn't begin with Peter's worst moment.
He began with one question.
"Do you love Me?"
Three times Jesus restored him.
Then He entrusted Peter with the care of His people.
Jesus refused to let Peter be defined by his greatest failure.
Instead, He called Peter into his God-given purpose.
That is what grace does.
Grace never ignores sin.
But neither does it allow shame to have the final word.

There have been moments in my life when it would have been easy to wear labels that others placed on me.
The little girl who survived difficult days in Cambodia.
The woman who walked through painful seasons.
The one who carried unanswered questions.
Those labels described parts of my journey, but they never described the whole of who I am.
As I spent time with the Lord, He slowly taught me to listen more carefully to His voice than to my fears.
His Word reminded me that before anyone formed an opinion about me, He had already formed me.
Before anyone misunderstood me, He already knew me completely.
Before anyone spoke words over my life, He had already called me His beloved daughter.
That truth changed the way I looked at myself.
It didn't erase my story.
It redeemed it.
And dear friend, He wants to do the same for you.
Heart Reflection Questions
• What negative label have you carried for years?
• Where did that label come from?
• Does it agree with what God says about you?
• Which name from Scripture speaks most deeply to your heart today: beloved, redeemed, chosen, forgiven, daughter, or another?
• How would your life change if you truly believed the name God has given you?
Living It Out
This week, make two lists.
On one side, write every label that shame has placed on your heart.
On the other side, write the names God gives you in His Word.
Then pray over each one.
Cross out every name that does not come from your Heavenly Father.
Leave only the names that agree with His truth.
Read them aloud each morning.
Let God's voice become the loudest voice in your life.
